[STYLE SCHOOL] Splitting Up Your Favorites
An easy starter challenge that will help you see your closet with fresh eyes!
Before we get into the details about the challenge, let me just say this:
Give yourself grace and time to learn.
At first, don’t try this challenge when you’re rushing to get dressed in the morning, it will only lead to frustration and giving-up too easy. Instead, set aside time to experiment and explore. Give yourself a chance.
Style is Learnable
Just like any other skill, style is learnable. The key is to keep going, keep practicing, and stay open to learning. Be a student of fashion, and you’ll see just how much confidence and joy your wardrobe can bring you.
OKKKK This challenge is all about SPLITTING UP YOUR FAVORITE OUTFITS.
We often get into the habit of mindlessly reaching for the same outfit combinations over and over without fully exploring all the possibilities each piece has to offer. This challenge encourages you to take one of your favorite outfits and BREAK IT UP, incorporating its pieces into different outfits you haven’t worn before. Here are the steps:
Choose an outfit you wear all the time
Take the top and pair it with pieces from your closet that you've never worn it with before
Take the bottoms and do the same
And then take the shoes and do the same with that
BAM! You have three new outfits… pretty easy right?!
You can continue this practice with each new outfit and, soon, you’ll realize that your closet holds unlimited combinations. It’s all about breaking the habit and seeing your wardrobe with fresh eyes.
Feel free to click on this image to print it out or save it for inspiration.
This is a challenge I CONSISTENTLY DO for myself to help me find new combos in my closet and create more magic out of what I have. Pretty simple right?
Don’t forget to… DOCUMENT!
Always take a picture of your outfit and save it in your “What to Wear” album on your phone. Remember, don’t worry about how you look in the photo (you can even cut off your head in the picture if you’re getting too hung up on it) just save it so you can reference it on rushed mornings!
AND REMEBER:
Never feel like you have to do my challenges in order. You can do some and skip others. Pick and choose the ones that speak to you, OR go all-in and challenge yourself to do ALL of them (honestly, that’s how you’ll see the biggest results). But you do you, boo! Don’t ever feel bad if you miss one, just jump back in and keep going!
I hope you try this one out! When you do, come back here and comment. Or, if you have a question about it, hop into the member chat… I’ll be there for you!
I absolutely love this cute graphic and the one you made for the next post too with you modeling the different outfits 🥰 super fun
